McCoy Pottery Email Loop
Definition: The McCoy Pottery Collectors Email Loop was created to provide an easy way for McCoy collectors to communicate with one another on an ongoing basis.   It is an OPEN FORUM for the discussion of McCOY POTTERY and anything having to do with McCoy collecting.    This list is un-moderated.....which means that anyone can subscribe and post.  However, just as in ANY mailing list, there are certain guidelines and  a "net-etiquette" that members are encouraged to follow.  Below is a list of guidelines specific to this email loop.  
Guidelines: 

1.  Please try to stay on the subject of  McCoy pottery when writing to the loop.   Although we are a very friendly group, the purpose of the email loop is to discuss McCoy.  Staying on topic will prevent unwanted emails, which will result in more collectors staying on the loop.  The more collectors on the loop, the larger our information source is when we need it!  :)

2.  This list has the potential to grow to up to 1000 members.  Considering this, please send all personal comments to the person you are giving these comments to, rather than sharing them with the entire group.  For example, if you wish to congratulate someone on a piece they just found, please do not email all of us and say "Way to go Sam".  Please just send this to Sam!  If everyone publicly congratulated Sam.....by the time the 70th person sent their congratulations letter to the group, we would have all forgotten what piece Sam found!

3.  With an un-moderated list, anyone can join and participate in sending email.  Unfortunately, this also means people having nothing to do with McCoy pottery can access the list to send unsolicited email to ALL of us.  This is considered SPAMMING. Commercial ads and solicitations (including so-called free offers) that have NOTHING to do with McCoy are NOT PERMITTED.  For this reason, this list has not been added   to any of the compiled listserve indexes. Doing so would only encourage more people to join for the purpose of sending SPAM mail.   I do not anticipate this to be a problem.  There are steps we can take to prevent this, should the need arise.    Currently, the only people that have the address to send to the loop are those members that are ON the loop.  You will receive this address when you have subscribed to the mail list.  Please write this address down or add it to your address books.  You won't find it anywhere on this site!  

4.  To subscribe to the mailinglist, simply send a message with the word 'subscribe' in the Subject: field to the -request address of that list. 

          Example:

Subject: subscribe
5.  To subscribe to the digest  (this provides you with all the emails sent to the group on a weekly basis, all at one time), simply send a message with the word 'subscribe' in the Subject: field to the following address. To: mccoy-d-request@ohiopottery.com
Subject: subscribe
6.  To unsubscribe from the mailinglist, simply send a message with the word 'unsubscribe' in the Subject: field to the -request address of that list To: mccoy-request@ohiopottery.com
Subject: unsubscribe
7.  To unsubscribe from the digest, write a email like this: To: mccoy-d-request@ohiopottery.com
